[Billing](https://knowledge.populateemr.com/billing?hsLang=en) October 12, 2026 # How Do I Allocate a Deposit? ## Step-by-step instructions for applying patient deposits toward past and recent encounter dues To allocate a patient deposit towards specific charges, follow these steps: Navigate to the **Charges** tab under Billing and click on the intended charge.
