# How to Create Appointments

## Here's a stepwise guide on how to create appointments 

Navigate to the **Appointments** page

Click anywhere on the calendar to open the **Create Appointment** dialog

Search for the patient you want to create the appointment for, and select from the list of existing patients.

To add a new patient, click on the **blue button** beside the patient name.

Add all the necessary details and click **Create** to add the patient.

After selecting the patient, you can select the insurance by clicking on the **dropdown**.

If the patient wants to pay out of pocket, select the checkbox beside Insurance marked "**Out of Pocket**".

Check the provider name, and if needed, change the provider by clicking on the field marked "**Doctor**"

Check and edit the Facility if needed.

Clicking on the dropdown under **Type of Visit** will display all the visit types available for the practice. Select the type that is applicable to proceed.

Check the visit date and time, and make changes by clicking on the required dates and customizing time duration.

The **Reason for visit** field gets auto-populated upon selecting the visit type, so you may change the text if necessary.

You may select the "**Patient would rather be seen sooner if schedule permits"** field if the patient asks so that they can be provided a earlier appointment date if there is availability in the calendar.

Next, add a referring provider, if applicable, by clicking on the "**+ Add Referring Provider**" button.

Once all required fields are filled out, click "**Create**" and the appointment will be added to the calendar.

You may also create an appointment by clicking on the "**Create**" dropdown on the top right corner of the appointment calendar.   
Select "**Appointment**" from the dropdown results to open Create Appointment dialog and proceed the same way as mentioned above.

You may also create an appointment by clicking on the **Global Create Button** on the top left corner of any page.

From the appointment side panel which you can access by clicking on the created appointment, you may edit reason for visit, visit type, date, time, etc. which will then be reflected on the calendar as well.
