# How to Print and Send a Patient Statement
**Printing/Sending Patient Statements for Selected Encounters:**
You can print and send statements for **selected encounters** using 2 different methods.
**1. From Appointments Side-Panel**
Navigate to the **Appointments** module. Click on the desired appointment on the calendar to open the appointment details side panel.
On the side panel, under the Payment section, you will find a "Statements & Receipts" area with a **Print** icon for printing the patient statement and a **Envelope** icon for sending the patient statement.
For Printing, clicking on the **Print** icon - will open up a comment box. You can fill this up if required and then click on **Print** to proceed. Once the preview of the statement appears, check if everything looks correct, and then click on **Print** option again to proceed.
For Sending the statement, clicking on the **Envelope** icon will open up two boxes. In the email box, insert the intended email address, and fill out the comment box, if needed. Then click on **Send** and this will send the patient statement to the inserted email address.
**2.From the Charges Side-Panel**
Navigate to the **Charges** tab under Billing, select the charge for which you want to print and send the patient statement, this will open up the charges side panel.
On the “Patient’s Statement” section, you will find a **Print** icon for printing the patient statement and an **Envelope** button for sending the patient statement.
For Printing, click the **Print** icon, add an optional comment, click **Print**. Check the preview and click print again to proceed.
For sending the statement, click the **Envelope** icon, enter the email address and optional comment, then click **Send**.
**Printing/Sending Consolidated Statement for a Patient**
You can also print and send a statement containing **all of a patient’s encounters** from Ledger using 2 methods:
**1. From the Charges Side-Panel**
Go to the **Patient’s Chart** section next to “Patient’s Statement.”
Click the **Ledger** icon, this would open up the statement along with the Print icon and Envelope icon.
For Printing the cumulative statement, click on the **Print** icon, add an optional comment, and then click on **Print** again.
For sending the statement, click the **Envelope** icon, enter the email address and optional comment, then click **Send**.
**2.From the Patient's Chart**
Alternatively, you can click on the patient's name to open the **Patient's Chart**, and go to the **Ledger** tab to get started.
Find the **Print** and **Envelope** icons next to “Final Notice” or “Statement History.”
Follow the same steps to print or email the statement.
