How to Take Screenshots
Set Up Snipping Tool for Quick Screenshots (Windows):
The Snipping Tool is a built-in Windows utility that lets you capture screenshots of any area of your screen. Follow the steps below to take and save a screenshot using the Snipping Tool.
Search for "Snipping Tool" in the Windows search bar and open it.- Once the Snipping Tool is open, click Mode and select a snipping mode: Rectangular, Free-form, Window, or Full-screen.
- To take a screenshot, click "New" and drag the cursor to select the area you want to capture.
- After capturing the screenshot, use the toolbar to annotate it (e.g., draw, highlight, or add text), then click File > Save As to save it to your preferred location.
- You can also launch the Snipping Tool quickly using the keyboard shortcut Windows + Shift + S on Windows. On macOS, the equivalent built-in screenshot shortcut is Cmd + Shift + 4 (this captures a selected area using the native macOS screenshot tool, not the Windows Snipping Tool).
